I'd give a serious look at the Sony NEX series. They've got APS-C sensors and some decent Zeiss glass including an 18-200. I checked them out when they first arrived. Impressive results.

Yeah I was gonna suggest the NEX as well, they are so small for DSLRs look like P&Ss
