Default Where to pitstop: Grand Canyon to Vegas

I'll be driving from Grand Canyon to Las Vegas in a couple of days and was wondering if there were any worthwhile detours for some photographic opportunities?

One thing I'd love to get, which I totally forgot to before, is some sand dune shots with those "ripples" along the frame.

Anything else worthwhile? I'm definitely able to detour but also don't want to go COMPLETELY out of the way or too far ...

I'm assuming leaving the South Rim of the GC, and will be driving to Vegas in 1 day?

Even if you are, the loop through Page, Coral Pink Sand Dunes will add only about 2 hours to your trip. Unfortunately, you'd arrive at CPSD around mid day - not the greatest lighting for ripple texture.

Hey - I actually through page - had some fun at Antelope Canyon.

Isn't Page, Coral Pink Sand Dunes the OPPOSITE way of vegas? And yes, I'm at the south rim...

Neither route is exactly a direct shot.

Compare:

If you have the time, the northerly route has many more pretty places to visit on the way.

I suspect there are some sand dunes to be found somewhere near Kingman and Bullhead City. Where, I dunnow.
