I need the help of people living in the Dallas area. I have a couple of guys wanting me to do shoots of their cars and I need a few ideas for good backdrops. I live north of Dallas and the only good spots I have are parking garages. I was hoping someone someone might know of an abandoned building or something else like that where I could get some good shots of an M3 and a Saleen.
Thanks for the help. Mike |

IMO, unless they're integral to a story that you have to illustrate, "good backdrops" are ones that don't take attention away from the car. See the links in my Sig, and good luck!

Been struggling with this too, mainly looking for an open area to minimize reflections. I found one I'd like to try, that has the new Margret Hill bridge in the background at a distance, should look at Sunset.

Seriously? Theres thousands of spots in and around Dallas, of just about any type that you're after. Just drive around and look or get on Google.
Are you looking for buildings and things that you can get signed releases on or just places in general?

I'm sure this is to both of us, but your right I know there are plenty of places. To be honest I haven;t scouted Dallas much but have seen quite a few places since working around downtown this year. I should clarify there are not many places to my taste around Duncanville, but I'm sure there are even some I haven't seen yet.

Sorry to dig up an old one but it's been a while since I've been on the site. Check out the Deep Ellum area (both sides of the highway). It's dead down there on a Sunday morning and there are more than enough back drops to suite any shoot. If you're willing to travel into Plano, one of my favorite spots to shoot is 190 and 75 at the DART station. Again, dead on the weekend, huge open parking lots under the bridge for shade or out in the open too.
