It looks as if you have some front focusing issues to deal with...depending on your lens and camera. Canon has a lot of info on their "learning center" site concerning proper focusing set-ups of various cameras.

Full sun is tough but I think they could use some more light. I would lower the ISO to get the shutter speed down a bit too - you shouldn't need 1/8000 for baseball.

As to sharpness - they don't look that bad to me (they are very small for judging sharpness). You will be suffering from jpg compression. Focus s/b on the eyes/face.

What focus mode, metering mode, drive mode are you using?

And one more observation - thee images don't have an imbedded color profile. What's up with that?

Besides being a typo on my part (it should be embedded) it's the color profile used. sRGB is pretty standard for web files. When I load one of your images into CS5 it tells me there is no color profile embedded. The image is not color managed.

I wouldn't say anything in them sucks. They aren't bad as action shots go. Your timing seems quite good to me.

gonna drop in my bit of salt - seems that all three images lack of information - they are cropped too tight and missing composition. total point and shoot mayhem, imo.
