Glad my laptop bag looks nothing like any of my camera bags. I would not be happy.

Just a wee bit of paying attention would have shown me the difference. In my hurry, I say a satchel and grabbed it. The weight was not really too different.

I need help.:confused::lol:

Sorry Paula, but I am not really qualified for the help you really need. :p

'bout the photos though, I think the 50 was fine, but would have chosen a slightly smaller aperture to give you a broader depth of field. I see you were at F1:4. Something to try next time.

Okay, I have forgotten CF cards, lenses, a flash, shutter remote, lots of things before. Todays 'trick' was first putting into my Domke satchel what I needed, then as I took off to see Rory, I grabbed the satchel with my laptop in it. It does not do so good at taking pictures. :o

What? You don't have a webcam for your laptop? You could have used that, assuming your phone's lacking one.

CrazieCricket wrote in post #14346378 (external link)
Hey all! Wonderful photos I've seen from a few of you! I'll have one or two soon. Went on a coon hunt the other night. That was quite the experience. I need to figure out how to take better pics in the pitch black of night. Just how do you get good focus when it's dark out? I had my flash on... but, well... I'm ignorant and haven't figured out how to work it right or something.

Woolburr wrote in post #14346483 (external link)
Focus assist beam on?

CrazieCricket wrote in post #14346488 (external link)
See... I know nothing of that stuff, Wooly. I just slap on the flash, turn it on and hope it works. I need help.

CrazieCricket wrote in post #14346522 (external link)
I was in tv and one shot. I have the 430 ex flash.

Woolburr wrote in post #14346544 (external link)
Focus assist should work then.

Woolburr wrote in post #14346575 (external link)
It should come on automatically if you are in one shot focus.

Unless you've turned it off via the camera's or flash's CF. I can't recall what camera you have, but, for instance, on the 7D it's CF-III-11; on the 50D it's III-5. By default it's on, but it can be turned off for just the on-board flash, for all flash units, or only for flash which doesn't have an IR-assist beam.

Ok here's the tree. The coon was in the blurriest part... the top blurriest part. All the edges look half way decent.

Guess it was almost dead center... the raccoon that is.

May have been working but just focused on the nearer bush, which looks sharp.

It does have a built in webcam. That would have made for a good video, me running around with a laptop trying to get photos. :p
I too often forget about my phone. Others got photos anyway.

LMAO @ Neils suggestion of The NASA breeding program

Great shots, Crissa, if I did not already say.

Bucky, I love the shot of Aiden in the window!

Nice ducks, butterflies, and coons being shredded. Poor guy was just minding his little bandit business :p

Pea, try shooting in manual with the flash instead of Tv. If it's real dark pick something like ISO 200 1/80 f/4.5. Use the focus assist setting or a flashlight to focus. They will look like flash pictures with shadows and the area outside the flash will be black but you should get your shot.

Do whats right HERE
~Take then of the bones of Adam and of the Calx, the same weight of each; and there are six of the Petral Stone and five of the Stone of Union~
