Default Are your watermarks same as business logo?

I've hired a friend who is a graphics designer to design a logo for me. I am very happy with the logo I've settled with when I think of how it would look on business cards, website, shirt, jacket etc., but I just tried it as a watermark, and I'm not loving it. I do however use a very basic script font on my photos for my watermark that once was my logo.

Would you use both, each in their own manner (logo on business cards, script on prints)? Do you think that would cause confusion?

I have different watermarks for different purposes. My logo is used for branding while an obnoxious "PROOF" is used to prevent premature facebooking (or, more accurately, to make it obvious to all that those are not finished images when they do get used).

I would not mix the logo and script font. You want brand consistency.

I put my www.com on anything that is likely to get to FB. This way at least people know where they came from. I've seen too many on FB with PROOF right across the image - and used for a profile pic. People just don't care anymore.

I do not know what is wrong with folks...maybe put "stolen" across them instead...sorry just a little edgy this am.

I have two different ones. They are similar though.

I use the same logo (registered as a trademark in my state) for both watermarking and branding--the difference is placement, size, and opacity.

For most of my web-published images (blog & Facebook), I just place my web address. I want people to see where the photos came from without having to search.
