Had a meal with the local brand manager of Hamilton and she brought me the prototype Hamilton 2012 Limited Edition Khaki Navy Pioneer. Photographed the watch at the restaurant itself - trying out the new 5D Mark 3 with 100L. I have not published any of the images yet but thought this one is worth sharing on this thread - especially with the Americans who can associate with the Hamilton brand - which was once wholly American brand before it became Swiss.

I took this shot of my Omega the other day, with the rented 400mm f/5.6L. My daughter looked at it and said "the bokeh is stealing my soul". NOt sure what that means, exactly, but she did seem to like the shot:

Bronze or brass cased watches are relative rare even though not new. They have been around for some years but until recently, they had not caught on. This is a collage of a very little known brand from New Zealand.

All luxury watches have gone through a process of inflation of their retail prices. It is to meet up with the demand with the current supply. Cash flushed economies like China caused much of the problems of price hikes.

Also, to an extent - Richemont Group that owns IWC (like all luxury groups) have the policy of increasing their prices annually. Prices will continue to rise as demand has not let up. It will do so until the demand for luxury watches level out.
