Default Ever heard of this photo pass drill?

Got word last week that my photo pass to shoot Heart and Def Leppard would be at the venue box office.
On the day the venue gave me a ticket and said that I didn't need a photo pass to shoot in the pit. I politely said that this is going to make the TD and security very nervous -- but they insisted that this was their policy, and kind of gave me that 'trouble-maker look' (you guys know the one). So I said ok. I wasn't allowed into the venue until 'doors' and had to queue up with the punters (doors was 30 minutes late).
During the wait, security toddled up to me with two photo passes: one for Heart and one for Def Leppard -- they were individually different looking passes -- and they said, "We figured it out for you," which probably meant that the TD had finally given them the passes.
When I approached the pit to shoot local support band Choirboys. security said I couldn't shoot them because I didn't have a Choirboys pass. Again, I politely said that this isn't the norm as I've never had a support band object to being photographed -- and a photo pass from the same promoter usually covers all the bands.
Luckily along came the TD who said it was ok to shoot the support, but he objected to me wearing both photo passes and made me take off the Def Leppard pass while I shot Heart and vice-versa.
You guys ever heard of this, and does anyone know why?

Looks like they are peeing you off, I would contact the manager of the place and get them to send you to the pits next time. Never heard of it, but there are some bands, namely Blondie that won't allow you to photograph from the pit at all

Well Deborah Harry is probably just a tad nervous about what her close-ups will look like these days.

I know this is an old thread, but I shot Heart and Def Leppard here and they gave me the same ticket story. I found out later that my pass was under the paper's name and not mine which is the reason why they couldn't find it. Either way, the security was understanding and allowed me to shoot from anywhere I wanted and for the whole show.
