Macbook Air usb bootdrive

i have white macbook with leopard os and usb install drive with snow leopard left from stolen macbook air. it didnt install when i set usb as bootdrive. what should i do?

The boot devices that came with specific computers are specific to that particular model. So a SL MBA install will not install on any other Mac model. You'll need to find a "retail" copy of SL or (if your MacBook has a Core 2 Duo and not a Core Duo processor) Lion.

thanks, yes my old mb has 2ghz c2d processor.

do you recommend lion over snow leopard?

If your machine will run the latest OS...no advantage in sticking with an older version. Go for Lion...before Mountain Lion is released later this year. You definitely want Mountain Lion.

i downloaded ML and installed it to iMac. i have read macbooks run twice less at battery than with snow leopard. so my white mb left with leopard.
anyone can confirm ml battery situation?

My Retina MBP shipped from China with Lion. But I upgraded it to ML the day after I got it. So I can not compare battery life on my laptop between the two OSs. Most of the time my laptop is used on my desktop. It only goes on the road for a photo trip.

i use my mb plugged to mains with ext.monitor as well

I did cycle my battery today. Driving both the internal and extern displays it lasted over 6 hours before it gave a warning to recharge.

My friends have it on there portables with now issues.
