A Photo of " Nothing " .

Any luck in getting those photos? Even just a description?

Personally I would have been tempted to do an extra long exposure with the lens cap on in a dark room.

I guess then you could put on a 50mm lens or something even wider- take a photo of the sky late at night ( cloudless night ) and then have a picture of mostly nothing! And it would be your photograph- not something from NASA.

But then it would just be "nothing", rather than a "PHOTO of nothing".

Nah, the easiest thing to do here is to just take a picture with the lens cap on. And then smear out any noise and clone out any dead pixels.

I think you got me wrong , I'm neither a comedian or arrogant . So try to do the self-portrait of " Nothing " yourself, I'm sure you'll do a good job.

Well, assignments like that are usually to test your creativity and how you would portray the concept. So, using someone else's idea is getting around the idea of the assignment really. You need to develop your own style and visualisation as an artist.

In this case you could have an image of somebody, looking very small in the frame, in the desert, showing the vast nothingness he has to find a way out of (or simply a person in an otherwise whited out frame, to portray the same thing in a more abstract way).

It's to teach you to think what "nothing" means to you, it's associations and how you might portray that. There are countless ways to portray the concept of nothing if you put your mind to it.

i like it but have a backup plan to turn in just in case.
