I was practicing a little with my lens in the old town part of Prattville, Alabama and ran across this guy with his little boy. He let me take some pics. I'm new to this lens and also got to use my new flash. It was nice of him to let me practice on them...here's one of my favorites! I'm liking this lens more and more.

Some nice pictures in here.
I also have the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC (On crop 1.6 body so range is about 27 > 80) To be honest i am not sure if i like it or dislike it >> The pictures are sharp and no complaint about the build quality of the lens , sometimes when it's dark it will hunt a little bit (AF) but no real problem there. Downside however > The color of every picture i shoot seems a little bit "grey" and there could be more contrast. While a big part of this can be changed afterwards with Photoshop or Lightroom , the final result could still be a little bit better. (Some Canon lenses i tried seem to give you a bit more color and contrast) Just curious > What do you (all owners) think about the colors/contrast the lens produces? > is it just me ? |

I agree with the rest of your observations about AF and contrast; the very reasons behind me selling this otherwise nice lens.
