I would agree that 1500 is a bit much, but my understanding of your market is that you don't usually cover the whole reception - is that right? A lot of times I'm there until the show is over, which means everything from getting ready until the lights come on at the reception.

I tend to give my clients 400-600 images nowadays. But I also shoot MUCH fewer hours these days. Lots of weddings are 6 hours now (my average wedding in 2008 was 14 hours. My average wedding in 2011 was probably 6-8 hours
It also is very dependent on your style of coverage. If you tend to be more hands on, traditional, editorial, etc., then you're likely to have few images. But if you're stronger in the more documentary approach, then you're likely to have a lot more images. 1000 great images are awesome. 1000 crappy images? Not so awesome. 200 great images are awesome. 200 crappy images? Not so awesome. So the number isn't important. Give great photographs. |

I've been very happy with Zenfolio and not just for client proofing; they have an excellent collection of tools and features.
