I didn't see Saturday, but I thought Sunday was pretty decent. The heritage flight was good. I was told the heritage formation wasn't that great on Saturday from another guy I was shooting next to.

Yes, he was correct about the Heritage flight on Saturday. It was a very wide/loose formation and looked like they were too slow for the Phantom. To me it looked like he was hanging in there with a lot of flaps and kicked it into mil power a bit at the end of the last pass to stay in there without stalling. I really loved the final solo pass by the Phantom though. Nice and LOUD!

The Heritage flight was very loose. I have seen a light tighter formations.

The Phantom just doesn't like to slow down.
I've got shots from the annual Heritage Flight Conference in AZ where you can clearly see that the Warbird is ballz to the wall at a deck angle that's probably three degrees nose down and the F4 is probably 10 to 12 degrees nose up! It's a pretty impressive display of dissimilar performance!

Nice shot of Heritage Flight from Sunday Julian. Still looking for a good one of the 4 ship on Saturday. They were so loose it's difficult to find one where they are recognizable. I'm still working on my shots and hope to post soon.
You're right Jay, dissimilar formation is always challenging. Like air refueling between an MC-130P and helo. We had 70% flaps dragging it at 115kts while they were all out trying to catch us. The H-3 was more difficult since it was at 105kts. Fully loaded with gas we were within 3 kts of stall speed.
