Yeah, I've done that as a gift. The album was also my top end.

I've done free weddings to help build my portfolio. I don't need to do that anymore but if a really close friend or family member asks I'll probably do it free. As far as free albums... I feel my free services are more than enough.

I'm shooting one for free at the end of summer for a relative. My wife is in the bridal party, so she won't be shooting. No albums, ha.

Free albums as a gift for a family member isn't really offering the album for free, it's a gift. Free for a syranger just seems obsurd and stupid to me.

Just shot my first wedding event the past weekend for sister-in-law so it's free and yeah we are providing free photobook more like a gift like PeaceFire said. Slightly off topic but somewhat related, no amount of lurking in POTN will prepare you from what you are about to encounter especially if it's your first time. I have looked at posted pictures and tips for months and months but nothing like the real thing when you are on the spot trying to adjust settings on the fly.
So if it's your way of either getting your baptism of fire or for honing your skills then go for it. As the saying goes, practice makes permanent (damage to your wallet that is). ![]() |
