Thanks everyone for the kind comments.
nyc2sd, I did get there right when they opened, just before the charter buses arrived, lol. I still had to wait for one of the guided tours that had about 50 people in it to move along. It was on a week day too.

I had the pleasure of seeing these things fly from RAF Mildenhall. I've never experienced anything like it. Nice pictures; really evocative.

That must have been such a thrill every time you could. I actually was unloading a truck load of cement right north of the airport when this one flew in on that last record breaking flight across the country, just over one hour I think. She flew right by me in a bank turn with the thrusters lit up for some reason, it was indeed one of the highlights of my life to see that machine fly! Thanks for the kind words.

Nice job. I too went there a couple of years ago to shoot pics. I had to do the "walk of shame" back to my car after my tripod was turned away. That place is too poorly lit for not allowing tripods. I ended up getting some nice shots but at a high ISO. :( Thanks for sharing.
