Default Newbie here! Have posted but nobody saw!!

Hey guys! Am new here! Names John, from Croydon. Love photography but wouldn't say its a dream job, more like a really great hobby! Half own (Me and my dad both paid half each!) a Canon EOS 1100D with an 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens! Which both came in the same package! Have done a few shots which I'll upload soon as practice and just for fun! Really like motion blur and light streak photography. Have also done some panning and high speed shots. I have been on this forum for a while but never signed up for it for a while but I thought I would because its a great place to learn new things! I'll be at a few events this year! Got DTM at Brands Hatch on the 20th May, then my cousins wedding on the 6th July, then Silverstone F1 race on the 8th July! Probably a few more that I'll post when I know about them!

Hello, and welcome to the forum! I can't wait to see photo's from the Silverstone F1, it sounds real cool! This is in fact the first time, I have heard of it, so off to research more I go! This is a fantastic place to learn new things about anything, and everything! -Americo

Thanks for the welcomes! Quick question. I am with Photobucket (Have been for ages, love it!) and they have an option to embed a slideshow with all photos from the album, but on the rules it says only 8 are allowed to be embedded, does that apply to the slideshows aswell?

Welcome.
In my experience at POTN. I've never seen anyone post a slideshow unless it was hyperlinked.

Hm, ok, I just know on Photobucket you can embed a full slideshow and the rules here say only 8 embedded photos. I guess it would be ok? It only takes one space but holds as many as there is on the Photobucket album.

No, it would not be OK. The 8 image limit is there to encourage you to be selective in what you post here. Embedding a slideshow (assuming the vBulletin code would allow it) would defeat that, and additionally would make it impossible for anyone to comment meaningfully on any particular photo.

Alright fair point, fair point. So could I post a few photos then post a link to my Photobucket page where everyone can check out the rest of the photos?

That's the encouraged approach. If the photos you post are strong enough, they'll draw viewers.

This isn't the place to post your photos. Look for one of the relevant forums (Still-life, birds, or whatever). Max. photo dimension is 1024 pixels in any dimension.

Yeah, well, Forum Talk is for questions specifically about the forum, not for photo-related questions/posts.
