IMO, you can always visit Yosemite Valley, but the high country (Tuolumne/Tioga Pass) is were it "is". Since the high country was recently open for the season, make sure you take a day (or two) there.

FWIW, there's a new webcam: Yosemite Falls Webcam

I don't have the 10-22mm, the widest that I have is the 17-40. I would say most of my Yosemite shots were taken with my 70-200 f/4L.

My 4x5 has hundreds of megapixels, at the expense of low FPS and zero autofocus points.

whoops didn't see this...

We have them on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - from 830-10AM. Totally free but we have a limit of 15. Maybe a mile around the meadow. Flat, paved trails.

high country is awesome. i was there last summer to watch the sunset at lembert dome! http://www.flickr.com/photos/jfchanp...9315/lightbox/

also a hiking pack to carry your 1 year old would be advisable. also hats, summers could be hot in yosemite.

I plan to spend a few days in the high country, but where can people camp up there? The campgrounds don't seem to be open in June. Do we have to rely on backcountry campsites?

There are campgrounds outside the park at nearby Lee Vining. Here's a link showing Inyo National Forest Campgrounds.

I'd suggest you sign up for the photo walks if you can, usually some cool info. I've been shooting a long time and get some pretty neat park info with those walks -I'll be there between the 16th & 26th. May see ya there
