Spent a week out in Colorado to attend an award ceremony for a gallery exhibit I had a piece of work in, and I took the opportunity to expand my Landscape portfolio. One of the goals of the trip was to photograph the Milky Way for the first time. Here is what I came back with. Hope you enjoy!!!

Spectacular shots! I hope to get some even half that good when I head to the north rim of the Grand Canyon this summer.
What gear/lenses etc did you use?

That is absolutely fantastic. The colours in the first one are superbly spectacular. They are worthy of being framed and hanged.

Wow, thanks everyone for all your awesome comments, I really appreciate it!!! I have actually sold a few prints of the 1st image already at my last art show. I dont have any close-up pics of the prints, but here is a pic from my booth. You can see one of my small framed prints of the first Milky Way image on the top row.
![]() I wish I lived west of the Mississippi so I could shoot the milky more often!!!

All real nice shots. Be very proud - you did good. How did you light the foreground?

Thanks guys!! I bought a 200 lumen Mountaineering headlamp from REI and used that to light the foreground... It was relatively inexpensive, totally portable, and worked really well!! Here is the link to the exact model:
