Hey Guys, I have a quick question for you film guys. I still have my original SLR (a Rebel 2000). I was recently given a box of in date kodak film and wanted to break out the film camera. This is only a hobby so I was going to just get the film developed at the drug store, but I wanted to know if the Kodak picture CD's gave you decent images or if I should get the film scanned another way.

the other alternative is to buy a scanner and do it yourself. if you're just doing it as a hobby you can pick up a cheap one for <$100.

Does anyone have any extra empty 4x5 film boxes laying around? I need a few for an upcoming project. I would gladly pay for shipping and your trouble.

^Maan me wants a larger format camera... For now 645 is fine but I want something 6x7 or 6x9
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() just scanned in a roll, I kind of shoot at a really slow pace with my GS645s. Sometimes takes weeks to finish a roll off.

Just wait. Once you get 6x7 then you will want to move to 4x5. I am now working between 6x6 and 4x5 and would love to shoot 8x10.

Oh yea... I love large formats... Have done some 4x5, 5x7, but no 8x10. I just want a 6x7 (probably mamiya 7) because theyre still practical for hand holding. I guess there are some 4x5s you can hand hold but the convenience of roll film cant be denied. I hate standing in the dark for half an hour

Ahhhh Mamiya 7. I really NEED (yes, NEED) that camera. Along with the 43 and 80mm lenses.
Someday... Boy today I was kicking myself for something I did in 2006. I was looking through my old "For Sale" ads over on Fred Miranda, and I saw my ad for my EOS 3 back in '06, I think it sold for $400 (which is great!) However, I noticed in my ad that I literally GAVE AWAY all of my 35mm film (104 rolls of all the good stuff in total) Thinking about it now I probably could have sold the film lot alone for $400 lol. Oh well! |

![]() Untitled by kyuis, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by kyuis, on Flickr Sunny 16 makes things easier on the Canonet... ![]() 3200 film in a venue is a little trickier but I can make things work, the roll turned out fine. B+W negative film is almost fool-proof, apparently.

That is true. Negs are very very forgiving. One of my favorite things about shooting film.

Here are a few frames from my ultra cheap Fuji Xtra (?) 400.
I got 8 rolls on clearance from BestBuy for about $6 IIRC. Anyway, these are from my A-1 ![]() gradient by Marm O. Set, on Flickr FD 85 f/1.8 ![]() wiffle by Marm O.
