Default Robin Chicks

We are on a road trip and visiting family in Denver today. My 5 year old great nephew excitedly told me he had baby birds in his play house. I had to climb up into one of those tiny kiddie forts and sadly, the light was behind the chicks and the DOF was very narrow. I also did not want to freak Mama out and use flash so I managed to squeeze out a few shots and leave as Mama was on the fence clacking at me

We have 4 Robin eggs in the nest and worrying about ground predators. Nest is in a bush nest to the house. Any ideas on how to protect them ?

No, you have to leave them alone or mom will desert the nest. I have morning Doves on a nest in my garage this year..... Grrrr. But I don't have the heart to boot them out

Great close-up shots, Maureen! The least you could have done is give them each a worm

Thanks for all the comments... it was pretty cool to be right next to a nest filled with babies I just wish I had a little more distance between me & them so I could get everybody in the shot in focus. Today we are at Mount Rushmore..... first time Even tho it was thundering & sprinkling, I managed to get some great shot of the 4 guys
