I see a bunch of threads on if you had this amout of money what lens or equipment would you get. but what about the other aspect of photography. the subject, or destination. where would you go if you had the money to travel anywhere in the world for that one breath taking shot. just curious, cause myself do not have the means to travel. so my one pleace i would like to go is the himalayas. capture the sun rise and set over the mountain range and the swirling winds...i just feel like it would be awsome.

I would head to the island of Taiwan. I was stationed there during our little "police action" and I would love to revisit it with digital gear this time.

Cream of the Crop

I dont have a location I want to go. I would rather record a journey. I have been wanting to drive accross the country again for a long time. But I want to take the trip in like 2-3 months. Take like 100 miles a day, and photograph along the route.

Old two lane highways and seeing the real America. I took 4 weeks in 1992 and drove Rt 66. Found sections in Oklahoma and New Mexico that were never paved. Met some wonderful people. Got a few interesting photographs and had an amazing journey. |

I'd first buy some underwater gear, then hit up some of the World's best dive spots.

All of Japan...every island and take at least a year to do it.

Since I already live in the most beautiful place on earth, I'll pick some foreign locations---Madagascar, Iceland, Utah

Ah, man, this is the question, and it's one I think of all the time.
Firstly, I'd kill to take a year out to do as much of a full US Air Show circuit as possible, then go back to the UK and camp out at The Loop for a few weeks before completing the Air Show circuit there. Then, for my other passion, nature photography, and in no particular order: Borneo, Alaska, a prolonged tour of as many South Pacific Islands as possible, Madagascar, Tibet.... And that's just for starters. It's a wonderful world out there...(cue the music....) Which reminds me, must buy a lottery ticket this week.

Have to agree with Mark1, slowing down would be good advice for myself. I have been fortunate enough to have driven through 38 of our states in the last 4 years and cruised to Alaska, problem is I want to go back to them all and have to 11 of them. Far inland in Alaska is at the top of my list for now, Danali and beyond is what we are dreaming for. Areas in Canada are inviting as well, BC and the Yukon deserve a visit.
