Default Moab Photography (with my new gear)

I'd like to take this chance to welcome myself to the forum... I've been lurking and enjoying others' work for a long time. Had an A70 in college and an A720IS the past four years, which has since pooped out.

Anyway, I've got a T2i on the way, so I'm pumped to have some great new capability. I'm heading to CO/UT next week, so going to break things in around Moab. Anyone have any spots or times in the area for great photo opportunities (other than obvious things like Delicate Arch at sunset or Dead Horse Point). Thanks in advance.

Also, any chatter to help me get to 30 posts so I can post some stuff for sale would be welcome, too.

Welcome to POTN!

Utah has some great photo places, check out Bryce Canyon and Zion, Grand Staircase, Canyonlands, just to name some.

The Four Corners area is great, and includes Mesa Verde. And, there is a beautiful drive up North through the Colorado mountain country from Durango on Highway 550, from which you can branch out in various directions, including toward Utah and Denver.

Heh! I'd say that Vancouver, BC has quite a few people here, but still there are at least a handful of Vancouver, WA POTN members, and quite a few more here in the Portland, OR metro area! We even have some fun meetups!

Well y'all are only 2500+ miles or so away from me... I'll let you know when I'm in town

I'll be much closer next week when I'm out in CO/UT!

Heh! For sure!

Actually, I went to Atlanta for a couple business trips some years ago and had a nice time! Gosh, they were like 20 years ago!

Things have changed mightily in the last 20 years... we hadn't even had the olympics yet 20 years ago! The amount of development and change here since the early 90s is pretty remarkable. So I guess it's time for a return trip for you to my beloved hometown!
