Default Kid Headshot

Part of this was just goofing around with a new light modifier but I thought these turned out pretty good. Looking for critique either way though. The first image was on some white seamless and was only edited to blow out the white background (left edge didn't go 255). The last few pics were really test shots but I got some good expressions out of her. These pics were taken straight from the camera.

Don't really have anything negative to say at all... they are all adorable! Very well done... I love #3, what a cute expression!

Thank you for the comments so far. Practicing on your own kid is always an easy thing because "Hey that's Daddy" so I'm going to see if I can get the same connection out of some different (not my) kids.

Her right eye is a little soft in the first- might think about opening up your DOF a little bit. She's got a great expression but I'd like to see the same sharpness and detail in both eyes as you've captured in her left eye.

Comparing #'s 2-4 I'm not diggin #2 simply because her expressions in #3 and #4 are so darn cute! Maybe some PP to darken up what I assume to be the floor in the background a bit.

I personally like the lighting it all of them. I think it creates nice soft shadows in all the photos.

AGree about the eye in the first, but I really like that light on her face. I wouldn't darken anything as her hair will then bleed into darkness..as is gives it a nice balance.
She is adorable.
