Paradidle - I like that Chicago photo, like the downtown seeming smaller than the closer in buildings.

One from Canyonlands last week.

I am contemplating about the 15-85mm. I also have the kit lens, did you guys sell it when you have the 15-85mm? since the focal lengths are complete covered anyway.

I still have my 18-55. I hike up peaks in Colorado, I will probably still use it for that for the weight savings, plus I was thinking if I sell my current camera (an Xsi) whenever I upgrade, it would help to be able to package it with a lens.

Thank you. Having these nice subjects to shoot out here in the west certainly helps.

Patrick

Wonderful shot. I grew up in Montana and Wyoming and the scenery out west can be breathtaking. We now live in Florida.... completely different, but the skies remind me of Montana. We have the amazing clouds etc. But we don't have any mountains. We only have reverse mountains (sinkholes). But we do have great flowers, birds and butterflies.

Thanks. Since you are in Florida, you may find the comments of Mike Jones (a professional photographer who takes a road trip each year) interesting. He's heading to Florida for the summer.

Hi

I am a motocross photographer and usually use my 1D2+50mm/70-200. The 70-200 is partially weather shielded and if the 50mm gets dusty I can easily take it apart. To be honest I tend to use the "disposable" 50mm (a VERY underrated lens) the most.

Due to the close proximity of the riders I really could use a wide angle and am considering using the holy of holies my 550D (with Delkin skin) and 15-85, but am really concerned about dust invasion. I feel I have an unnatural love for this combination and only take it out of its padded bag and remove the neoprene wrap in perfect conditions (like those in a microchip laboratory :)). I can't afford a 17-40 or any other lens at present and intend to upgrade to a 7D in the future.

Do/would you use your 15-85 in a dusty environment?
