I noticed they didn't mention about colour of the suit. I was told a plain colour and no advertising logos by the ACO via email. Am looking into picking up a 3 layer Sabelt suit this weekend. Extra stuff to have to pack in the suitcase dang it! Will probably buy a helmet while I am over there to save trying to lug it around with me. Buggered if I know what I will do with it afterwards.....
When the ACO brought the rule about wearing firesuits a few years back, there was a rider that the suit had to be plain and without logos, that included the logo of the suit's manufacturer. So most of us sheeple complied, of course a number did not (wonder which country they came from?) and over time folks have worn suits with and without logos.........there has been no sanction. I wear a suit provided by my team that is fully branded, but once you stick a photo vest and a tabard on it is hard to see the logos.

I would advise you to get an appropriate cycle/bike helmet before you leave for Le Mans, as the introduction of this rule so close to the event will mean that there will be a shortage locally, everyone will leave things to the last minute. Of course the new rules may lead one to consider whether working in the pit lane is worth the cost/inconvenience/effort................

Manna and others, if you do wish to work in the pit lane or trackside, I strongly suggest that you do attend the briefing on the Sunday, you will not be issued with your tabard if you do not.............unless you can show good reason for your not being there, a late night at one of the dodgy nightclubs in Le Mans will not be considered as sufficient grounds.............

I was thinking the same thing with the Tabard. Once it's on half the suit is hidden from view (if it's anything like the F1 ones).

I'm looking into Helmets now (with just over a week til I fly!), and found one which looked good, til I was told that because it's modified to meet Australian Standards, it may not meet the Euro CE standard anymore! Grrrr. More researching tonight it seems. And then figuring out how to fit it into my suitcase with my clothes, chargers, big prime lens, and a racesuit!

Without wishing to raise an unwelcome topic, but have you been specifically informed that you have pit-lane access as this is very restricted this year...............if not, it might solve your luggage issues..............there will be a possibility of sharing tabards for the pit-lane but that might not be worth the effort of dragging a suit/helmet etc. halfway round the world................you might make arrangements to share the task with someone else.

Good. Well that makes the effort of lugging the extra gear worth it.
