Default PowerShot G1 x

How is the PowerShot G1 X packaged?
I got one today and the packaging makes me think it's refurbished.
The box had a sticker on the top that was removed. The glue was still there and signs of having been lifted off. The packaging bags inside appeared rubbed a little and weren't sealed. The camera itself looked OK except it did not have a protecting sheet on the display; do they came with one?
Is there a way of finding out if it is refurbished?

Where did you buy it from, if new?? Call Canon they'll tell you.

Thank you.
I got it from 42nd Street Photo. I have ordered from them before and I think they are OK, but...

My package wasn't sealed either. I don't think they're sealed at all. I can't think of any Canon cameras have a security tag on the box. There is no screen protector on the G1X. It's protected by the fact that the screen is facing the camera.

Here in the UK we expect the box to have the Canon plastic seal on it (a circular one about 3/8" diameter) over the tap that keeps the box closed and the individual bags have a bit of sellotape keeping the contents in but I've never bought a camera with a screen protector on it - most probably because it's turned inwards to the body.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen a sticker like that on any Canon EOS or PowerShot camera box sold in Canada or the United States.

That's why I explained 'here in the UK'. I don't know what you get in USA/Canada but surely as the OP mentioned gum from a sticker you do?

Actually, I mislead you here as the clear plastic, circular label is 1 3/4" across not as I said before.

That's the S100, the G1X, and the D10 .

I bought my G1X, SX40, and S95 from the same local dealer in the US and none had a circular sticker on the box.

My box wasn't sealed, but the bags all looked new and the box and inards all felt they hadn't been opened before.
Does the camera have any finger prints on it .. does it have any actuations ?
