Just curious

What do you study/what's your overall background?

What got you into photography?

How do you fund your glass (or, can you ) ?

Myself: UBC Computer Science student in my 3rd university year, 19 just this month.. I fund this hobby through a part-time job waking up at 4am and lifting stuff for a couple hours, schoularships (excuse my spelling), and bursaries. I don't watch TV or play any video games so I do this for fun. Aunt bought me an XSI and that's how I got into this

Virginia Tech, upcoming junior

When I was little I used to take apart cameras and other electronics and since then photography has been a growing hobby.

Naturally im a mechanical engineer. I work ALOT of hours.. between camera gear and my other hobbies, I end up eating alot of peanut butter and saltines

Because I already have a BSc in Mathematics.

I got my first degree in recording arts and sound engineering, I rarely use any of that stuff anymore. Now I'm in my second year of an elementary education degree, which I'm much more excited about.

I bought my first SLR, a Rebel 2000, when I was in seventh grade and have been taking pictures ever since. I guess that would be about 12 years now.

I'm very lucky to have been employed at a family owned music store for the past four years or so. And have a lovely wife who helps me fund my hobbies without rolling her eyes too much

Starting medicine at Nottingham uni (UK) in September.
I've always been interested in photography, but it really kicked off with a 450D in 2009.
Beg, borrow and steal! Seriously, I just work and save up for stuff. But no, I can't yet afford exactly what I want!

CFD, no thanks! As of this weekend I no longer qualify as a student, graduated with a BSME...very happy it is over with for a while. Takes a lot of patience saving for camera gear when you are a student but it is worth it in the end.

Indiana University- Finance/Accounting, going into senior year
I don't really "fund" any of my stuff any more since I quit buying stuff 90% of my gear was purchased back in high school when I was able to live under Mom and Dad's roof and drive their old cars and eat their food. Used my high school graduation money to buy the 70-200 L, and really haven't spent anything else on photography since going to college. Actually kind of quit photography apart from random special occasions, but have recently started shooting (and spending...) again. Just bought a tripod/head since I think that's really what kept me from shooting. Really looking forward to graduating and getting a job and actually having money for discretionary spending!

Louisiana Tech--Electrical Engineering and I'm an upcoming junior.

I work on campus and that primarily funds my gear and I'm interning this summer and that will fund some more stuff. And I'm good at finding deals.

I bought a cheap P&S in high school and after that I always wanted a DSLR, so I bought myself one for graduation.

I'm in my third of five years at Loughborough University, studying for an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering.

Hopefully on placement for a year from July (I hear the decision this week!), so the possibility of free time to take photos arises!
