Anybody know where I can get a decent, yet inexpensive tripod today?
I stopped into Bromfield yesterday and they were about as helpful as a bag of rocks.

All I really need is a quick release plate for my Giottos but I've seemed to misplace it.

The Hunts down here carries Giottos so you may be in luck with buying just a plate.

I should've specified that I had a cheap Giottos tripod.
I called Hunts and they don't carry the one I'm looking for. I think the only place you can find it is online.

I'll just go over there to have a look.

Well, I had a look around the store and didn't really see anything that caught my eye.
The Manfrotto Modo looked snazzy at first, but when I played with it, it seemed plastic-y.

I ended up grabbing the Manfrotto MK394-H. It doesn't seem all that bad, esp. at that cost.

I was going to offer to sell you my Giottos monopod, as the plate might fit your tripod... but I think you're better off getting a decent tripod and head.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

PM me info on it as I might take one and not take a tripod everywhere I go.

Yeah, it's Jeremiah's too (well, Friday technically). The beauty is, it's early in the AM so you'll hardly be missed! :)

Kidding - happy anniversary.
