Hi!
I know its not motorsport, but this seems to be the closest category! I'm going to be going to an airshow soon, and have a 70-200 f2.8 L, but last year hired a 300mm f4 IS L. This year I want to use the 70-200 L with a 1.4 teleconverter. Is that a good choice? OR would I be better off hiring a lens again.? If I was hiring, it would be between a 300mm f4 L, Sigma 50-500 and Canon 100-400 L. So should I stick a TC on my 70-200 L or go for a long lens? [I've included a photo from last year, as I want to aim for the same sort of sharpness and IQ.] Last edited by breney : 13th of June 2012 (Wed) at 17:20. Reason: Spelling Mistakes |

I would go for the long lens as, I assume, most of the photos you will be taking will be of the planes in flight. Your 70-200 with TC will definitely "hunt" a bit so i would go for the 100-400 for the range or even a 400mm f/5.6.
