installed CHDK, ... Raw question

Hello Gang ~

I installed the correct CHDK for my sx110 and all is well but what is the trick to making the Raw files readable in Lightroom?

in the Alt Menu it lists all the options for Raw and whether I set the extension to CR2 (Canon) or CRW - my sx110 does not recognize the file in play, nor does Lightroom 4 recognize it...

Help please. It would be cool shooting Raw on my P&S...

(its also cool seeing a battery remaining % feature... )

you need to save it as a DNG. DNG is adobe's open format.

check out the CHDK wiki faq on how to save in the DNG format and process them.

thank-you - that is what I was attempting while I was awaiting a reply... but - when I click on the "DNG Format" - it says "Create badpixel.bn first"

so I do - and it say it must be in Record mode - then it says
"Don't Panic! This takes a few seconds

but - it is recording... until my card is full (17 minutes of waiting...) - and nothing happens... the card gets full of recording video...

Ideas please?

hmm, not sure. i havnt played with CHDK for awhile. im looking at the wiki, youre suppose to be able to do in in 20-40 seconds: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_User...e_badpixel.bin

Yeah, I'm stuck. It states that it takes two photos during the process but instead it is recording video of whatever I'm pointing at... and continues until the card is full - or I force it to stop by means likely not good...

And then there is another way to create the bin file but it seems to involve taking various photos with the lens covered for different durations of time...

DNG would be nice to have but oh well...

okay so I got it to work... by doing something different than what the instructions asked, mind you..

so its nice shooting DNG now - its about 14mb files... but it also creates a jpeg at the same time

Hello!

Could you please tell me what you did outside the instructions to enable your 300hs to record in DNG format?

Been having problem creating badpixel and found no solutions on other forums.

It would be very, very much appreciated if you would give me some details about what you did to be able to shoot in DNG
