I'm totally new to bird photography and I have to say that I'm glad I found this book!
After "thumbing through it" I have realized that I have probably tossed out some good shots because I had little understanding of the post processing. This is a MUST MUST MUST READ for anyone just starting out! It will save many potentially great shots that end up in the recycle bin. |

I too am very new to bird photography and photography in general. I have tried the various AF modes and get a large number of totally OOF shots. It may have to do with the T2i not have a good AF system as I have seen many comment about. Thanks for the guide it does come in handy for sure.

You are all very welcome -- and thanks so much for the positive feedback!
I hope to do a major update to the book soon -- including the downloadable PDFs that everyone has been requesting. Merry Christmas!

I am not a beginner bird photographer but the information in your book would have take me years to learn. Many thanks for an informative and easy to understand manual!

Wow what a gold mine for photography. Not just birds either. This information can be applied to many different subjects, but I will be referring to this for many many years.
Looking forward to the PDF so I can reference on my phone and I will definitely be making a donation to you when money is not so tight. I think everyone who has looked at this data more than once, should send you something!

Re your pending update, I respectfully suggest that you should add a section on the latest "superzoom" cameras such as the Canon SX40HS. Presently you make no mention of anything between digiscoping with small P&S cameras and DSLRs with long lenses, but for some birders the carry-around superzooms fit their needs far better than either of those routes. |

Wow, I just saw this and, what a gift. I just posted a question about exposing in harsh light and I bet I find some info in your book on that.
Its rare in this world to get something for "free". I see you have a donations link. Good idea, you deserve to be compensated for all of the time and energy not just in the book, but in your years gaining that wisdom. Thanks again! |

bmajoros,
Thank you so much for putting all of the effort require for this excellent work. Thanks to you, today I used flash and a Better Beamer in the field in the beginner AV mode you described in 7.5. I have a lot to learn but I am very pleased with the first results. Thanks again.

A year since this thread was active, and I hope bmajoros is still around. I did write to the email address he stipulates but received no reply...
If so, is the pdf out yet? |
