Paid cash plus my 5D MK II for mine. I was going to wait until the price dropped but having saved hard I decided to treat myself. It should arrive tomorrow so looking forward to giving it an outing this weekend.

I'm sure for some it's maybe not about having the cash. I happy to say I do have the cash, but I do also have a wife who might just cut my limbs off knowing what I just paid for a body/lens whatever. She would notice a few thousand missing from our savings, not 1 or 2 hundred from our checking each month. As long as it's interest free, Bill Me Later or Amazon card/Newegg card work great to keep it discrete!

In my view if you cannot pay in cash without even noticing that you have made a purchase, you should not buy

I was thinking of selling my oldest son so I could buy the 5DMKIII but not sure if I would have made enough on the sale and was talked out of it.
So, I sold my youngest son and bought a 2nd 5DMKII and with the extra cash left over, took my wife to McDonalds for Big Mac!

I made sure the ski mask fit correctly, so it didn't fly off as I ran away

I'm beginning to think that POTN members paying cash for this camera must belong to the "1%"!

In my youth, the company I worked for told us that you borrow only for capital investment. Show me a company which borrows for operating expenses (don't confuse this with a credit line) and I will show you a company that is marching towards bankruptcy.

Wouldn't you start to notice purchases eventually though, if you never noticed?
