I need some help. I'd like to learn how to get glamor shots of guns similar to the photos used in gun magazines. I've got a few years under my belt as a photographer but I've yet to learn this one. So before I start guessing my way through it I'm hoping I could get your help.
As for equipment I've got:
Here is a pic to provide an example of what I'm talking about (I did not take this pic BTW)- Thanks in advance! Last edited by Skip Souza : 4th of April 2012 (Wed) at 20:33. Reason: You must post your own photos or loink them from their original source. |

I think you are supposed to post a link to photos you did not take yourself, so that no offence is caused to the person who took the image and there is no copyright infringement.
Sorry I cant help you on the actual question, I dropped in to see what the answers might be. Still at least this reply might bump your post up the list. |

With a tripod, cheap work lights can be a useful substitute for studio lighting.
Look at the knife & Browning threads here: FAQ - Studio Lighting Post your gun shots here

The book Light Science and Magic will be indispensable for this sort of project.

you can use a tripod as suggested above. lighting wouldn't be much of an issue if you have a good editor
