Not fair to compare a stack verses a single shot, but I would go with pwm.

I also think #1 is the SLR shot. #2 has more depth of field which I think you get with compact cameras. They are both good detailed shots.

i don't know which was done with what, but they're beautiful. great detail and i like the contrast in color of wasp/leaf

![]() first was shot with a G9 and a close-up filter, the second with the XSi Quote:
Just trying to show what can be done on the cheap, got that used G9 for U$180 about two months ago and am pretty happy with the macros I'm getting with it, on minimal ISO it's very comparable to a dslr quality |

Great example. When a shot doesn't work out for me, I tend to want to blame my equipment, but I appreciate seeing examples like this once in a while to remind me that a good photographer can make amazing images with the cheapest equipment available. Guess I have to keep practicing
