Congrats Meghan! You got your self a fine motor! The wife and I have actually been talking about trading her Audi for a new Tiguan. They are just so damn attractive!

LOL, you guys are funny. I don't know about guru... maybe I'm just trying really hard to justify my $3,000 purchase.

Mike, I've considered the hackintosh route, but I'm just not tetchy enough anymore and I'm too lazy to get caught up with current PC building stuff and keep caught up. Seems like ever since I started having kids I've lost the time and interest in playing with computers... and lately barely playing video games.... WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!?

I know this is the 60D thread (okay, LOUNGE, but still)...Went out to the local cruise (rt 66) and was messing around with the 5D III...My high ISO, let me show you it.

25,600 iso, with my very crappy (see: I don't know WTF I'm doing) noise reduction on the jpeg (can't process the RAW files yet).

This camera is pretty dang awesome so far.

Unless your intent was to get the background entirely in focus, on both of your shots I feel like your DOF is really deep.

thanks russ! and i just saw you starting portraiture as well and that's awesome! that's pretty much the only type of photography i do right now - maybe food photography down the road

i agree with keyan for outdoor portraiture you would want a shallow dof to remove distractions from your subject - unless you do some key shifting which is another ball game!

though i know one photographer that shoots at high fstops in natural light and gets amazing images! if you prefer the non flash route you should check his stuff out - i don't know how he does it

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1310217&type=1

don't know if you can see that or not
