Default Good looking gal and crappy area

There is a style of shooting picturing good looking gals in crappy areas like abandoned buildings and trash and grafitti littered alleyways.

I just don't understand nor do I enjoy the juxtaposition of beauty and crap. Perhaps that's just me...

it's the same as photographing a plastic bottle in a forest I think. Just trying to juxtapose two things that you wouldn't expect to see near one another

That's pretty much it. Doesn't always work.

It's cliche now, but those abandoned, gritty locations do provide for an interesting ambience. Other times it's out of practicality, where else can you go and set up lights and not be bothered and have your model dressed (or not) in scant clothing? I've never shot like this, but I can understand why. Just like everything, it can be done very well or it can be done poorly.

Well, it's better than an ugly, run-down model in a fancy, posh location.

Sometimes it can be done really well. However, an old friend has just had this done for her engagement - I'm sure there's a time and a place for it. In my eye, Pre Wedding pictures isn't one of them.

Yikes! They did that for an engagement shoot? Whatever floats their boat, I guess.

Welcome to POTN!
