Hello all, I have never shot sports and was approached about shooting at a local YMCA basketball league for kids. I was told that I would be shooting the team photos as well as the games. I will be selling the photos to the parents but have NO idea on what to charge. Can some of you photogs that shoot this type of work give me some advice on what kinda of packages(10 X 8, 5 X 7, wallets etc...) and what to charge etc...... BTW, my gear is Canon 7D, 50mm 1.4, Canon 24-70 will be adding the 70-200 2.8 IS II and the 85mm 1.8 soon. Thanks in advance for any input.

As far as pricing goes, I would find out what other photographers are charging for their packages and prints. This will help you determine your prices. There are plenty of basketball shots in the Sports Photo Sharing section. This will help give you an idea of a location to shoot from (gym/staff permitting). It will help with camera settings (read the EXIF data). There is also a T&I thread on here that will answer all your questions and provide some samples of posing the teams. Rule #1 with T&I is to watch your backgrounds.
