Hello everyone,
I am a much needed vacation coming up in about three days. I want to bring my DSLR along with us to try to get some good Resort / Landscape pictures. I am a little hesitant to bring my camera equipment with me but i dont want to miss the opportunity to take some great pictures. I am brining my GoPro hero with me for video when we go snorkeling but i am trying to figure out what glass to bring. I have an EFS 18-55mm IS, EFS 55-250mm IS, EF 50mm f/1.4, EFS 17-55 mm f/2.8 IS. I would like to bring as few of them as possible. What do you think? Also what about my Fiesol 3441 tripod and 430 EXII Speedlite? Thanks for the input!

I travel everywhere using my 17-55mm f/4L IS lens + 70-200mm f/4L IS on a pair of 1.6x cameras. That said, selecting from your equipment, I would bring...

Also what about my Fiesol 3441 tripod and 430 EXII Speedlite? Your camera, of course. I would not own decent equipment if I did not want to bring it with me when I travel. I'd bring the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS; which actually is a pretty viable low light lens as well as a darn good multi-purpose mid-range zoom). I would also bring the 55-250mm to crop in-camera to isolate portions of the scenery and to shoot people. I always travel with a flash - especially in bright areas with harsh sun because I do a lot of fill-flash work. Tripod is up to you. I have modified a Slik Pro 330DX tripod by switching from the heavy pan-tilt head to a lightweight Flashpoint F-1 head and switchng from the stock center column to a lighter weight short accessory column. My tripod weighs right at two pounds anc can support my 1.6x cameras with 70-200mm f/4L IS lens.
