Now I know macro with this camera get's such negative comments by reviews, but is so damn good.

I normally crop in post and work on the image I want. But in this instance, I got the image I was looking for.

Here's to IS at f/2.8, ISO 100...

Nice photo .... now get a macro shot of the olive in the middle ... no cropping! :D

I have the G1X as well and it's Macro mode is one of my complaints, but I more or less remedied that with a Raynox 250.

I may be adding a Raynox MSN-202 or N505 for even more magnification.

This is the full frame, no crop image of a razor blade .... G1X & Raynox 250

Nice shots, but where are the sheep? :)

The wife and I drove over Wrynose pass to Ravenglass a couple years ago (we were staying in Ambleside). The driveway at my house is wider than that road!

A visit to Walney Island this evening, the old Groynes looking weathered by wind and tide.

Can I ask whether people are composing using the viewfinder or screen?

I'm looking for a top end compact to replace the 7D on holiday and am currently torn between the G1X, Fuji X100, Sony RX100 or wondering whether the much cheaper Fuji X10 will do the job
