Default The iconic landscape photographer

We went to Las Vegas last week and spend one day for a trip to Zion NP. For sunset we went to the Canyon Overlook. We were a little late so the light to capture the valley was not enough. As I left, there was another photographer shooting on the cliff. From my lower vantage point his silhouette just looked awesome. I asked him if I cold take a picture and he agreed. I think it is very nice.

I love silhouette shots and this one is no different.

I would maybe crop the bottom third off and clone out that branch sticking in the top left corner.

Thanks, I will do that. I didn't even see that branch.

It's very nice. You might consider cropping this into a horizontal format, which would allow the silhouette to fill the frame while lopping off a whole lot of all-black area (as well a little bit of the sky at top). Or how about a square crop that retains all the sky but lops off the excess black? When I recrop it on my monitor (by resizing my web browser window) it just looks better cropped as either a horizontal or square to me. Just a thought.

No matter what you do or don't do, it is very nice!

David,
thanks for the suggestion. I think I like the square version even better now.
