I purchased a wide angle lens and attached it with the Bower 58mm Adapter tube and I cant view without the tube showing. I have switched the setting for the converter in the "menu". Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get rid of the tube from the shot. (I have extended the zoom as far as it can go without shutting the camera down)

OK, well for starters wide adapters are intended to be used only at the wide end of a camera's zoom range. However, the G10 is somewhat wider than was until recently typical of P&S cameras, so it may, at widest zoom, actually overreach the air image the adapter lens produces. That all said, I note that the Vivitar 0.43x WA adapter got pretty bad reviews at Adorama.

Lensmate makes a three tube adapter system - parts A, B, and C. Part A is the shortest piece that attaches to the camera, and this is the one you would have to attach a wide angle conversion lens, and ONLY use it at the widest zoom setting - 28mm. Zooming out from there will cause a lens crash. Using the part A adapter with the WA lens will eliminate vignetting. If your 58mm adapter tube has two parts, you should unscrew the two parts and only use the part that attaches to the camera bayonet connection.

The G10/G11/G12 does not have a menu setting for a wide angle converter, only for a telephoto converter lens. These G series models do not list a wide angle converter option, even though some folks have been successful at using various wide lenses.
