Hey all
I just got back into the hobby this year and I am looking for some guidance as to my next purchase. I currently have a 5D2 with a bunch of lenses including the 100-400. (gear list below). I was considering the Bigma 50-500, for the huge range. However I realized that the 7D crop body comes in about $400-500 cheaper, which offers 1.6x focal length which gives me 160-640mm FL on my already owned lens. This also gives me a faster camera in terms of burst mode, which is nice. PLUS, a backup body if I ever do weddings or any kind of paid work. Does the crop sensor lose IQ compared to a FF body? Please help! Thanks!

if it were me I would probably go for the 7D, for the reasons you listed. A second body is always a good thing to have, and the crop factor will get you the reach your looking for with a bit of savings.
Im sure there is a bit of IQ loss, but from my experience the 7D produces great images.
