I've never shot a pure white image before, but that's what I got tonight!
First attempt at star trails, I live in the city so I thought shooting at 80mm would help escape from the light. The image came out pure white, I cant even see a smudge of anything. Is this just from a faulty sensor or does a SUPERLY over exposed image show up as pure white? 32 minute exposure, the other settings are listed on the picture. ![]() |

Try shooting at your highest ISO and with a shorter shutter speed to find out what a good exposure is like. From there, it's easy to calculate what your longest possible shutter speed can be without blowing out the image. Low ISOs help too if you want to go for a while.
