Default Lens for static aircraft

Going to an airshow on Sunday and I only have room in my bag for one other lens to go along with the 100-400mm. Should I bring the 10-22mm or 28-135mm for taking shots of the static displays? Thanks!

On a crop, the 10-22 is probably your best bet so you can work in closer in crowds.

Thanks Jay, I was hoping you would reply. I'll go with the 10-22mm unless someone else comes in with a reason to go with the other.

Personally, I prefer to avoid full wide in really close as it tends to distort the perspective a little too much but sometimes, to avoid heads, arms, etc, you don't have a choice.

I used the 10-22 Sigma at Farnborough this year and came away with some nice statics with little clutter:

For statics I like my 17-50mm. I find my 11-16mm Tokina to wide for statics.

Agreed here; but out of those two lenses I'd have to give the nod to the 10-22, also
