Default Pics of my girlfriend... please help CC! :)

long time no post! apparently my last visit was december 8, 2011. I was out of the taking pictures hobby thing for quite some time as I got busy with life in general. I was a little sad, but now my girlfriend has brought back new life! because of her (and her beauty), i managed to start picking the hobby back up again..

i need you help in seeing if the pictures look okay.
mostly with the color scheme than the framing of the shots.
please be brutally honest! i am using the 5D Mark II with a Zeiss 35/2 on it.

2nd and 3rd have camera shake/blur. You need faster shutter speed. The last two have busy background, IMO. They are nice, but if you moved your GF away from the background more, and you got closer to her, and shot at F2, you could give her more subject/background separation. Also, the crop on her legs at the bottom is a bit awkward. Those criticisms aside, the pix are nice. You have nice gear and a lovely model. Shoot, shoot, shoot!

Shot 1 - wait till the girl in the really bright dress had moved but otherwise a nice snapshot reasonably out of focus background gives context.

Shot 2 - lovely desaturated look and a great location, trouble with a miss focus (did you focus then she walked away?) as the more foreground trees look sharper than you gf. I'd go back and give this location some more time!

Shot 3 - nice but camera shake has left it too soft I think.

Shot 4 & 5 - nice shots but the crop in 5 is better as it's better to crop between joints than at them and you've hit the ankles in 5.

They are a good set of images though and as you get back into it all these things will be picked up!

I like the idea on the second photo. But the focus is on the first tree left, it is because you probably used the wides aperture
But all in all, cool shots , def. remake the second one, thats a keeper

THanks so much for your critiques! i am still getting the hang of things again. i know, such a waste to have such a beautiful lens with my camera but i will get back to this hobby!

but do you think the color is okay?
how else would you better implement some of the color schemes, angle of the shots, etc?

I think the color is great on 1 and 4. Interesting how different the color looks between 4 and 5.

Love #1 for it's angle and positioning, though the dogs face could have been in focus with a higher fstop maybe.

#2 and #3 are just horrible.

#4 and #5 are both cute as well but the cropping and fg/bg could be worked on. #4 has a slight tinge to it that I like.

Keep practicing to be better.

I like 4, good focus, nice composition with the rule of 3drs, nice eye contact and pose, pretty colors m make a pleasant memory
Number 1 is a nice candid, but too many people adn stuff around make it busy and cluttered, DOF is too shalow and the eyes of the dog are OOF
3 and 4 is sad that has OOF or Blurred shake because has a nice feel but falls short as the subject is out of focus
Is great that you are picking up that 5D again with a nice Zeiss glass
Keep it coming

#2-3 definitely have blur & possibly OOF issues going on. I assume you were walking after her which would have caused that problem. Higher shutter speed probably would have helped too (cant see your EXIF data)

#1 is definitely the best

#5 the pose with her looking down isn't that great (compare against #4 and you'll see she looks better in 4).
