Hello,
I just received my Luma Labs Cinch today and I love it! On Luma Labs web site they have the attached picture. I was wondering what exactly the thing is that I have marked in the box was? It looks like some sort of swivel or something. I would really like to get something like that but have no idea what it is... Thanks,

That would be Nikon's strap ring.

Many thanks...
So I wonder if there something similar for a Canon or if a Canon can use that? I will have to go searching the Net...

I've never seen anything for Canon that will swivel like that. I've seen a few people simply put a split ring keychain on the strap slot and go that way, but again, you don't have swivel.

Metal that you dont want anywhere near your camera body. Stick with Op/Tech.

I looked on the Op/Tech website and really did not find anything that would work with the flat connector strap...
It seems that the connector strap pulls on the metal connector on the camera. I would think that would cause issues after awhile.

The strap mounting points are very well anchored to the body. They're meant to take the weight of the camera plus whatever lenses you have on it (plus flash and accessories).
If I had to guess I'd say the Op-tech things mentioned were the Adapt-its. They don't swivel but they are sturdy and provide an attachment point for things like the Black Rapid strap's carbiner or what have you.

I definitely agree that the mounting points on the camera itself are well anchored.
Sorry, I was not very clear, in that I though that the strap connectors themselves would start to have issues over time with wear against the metal mounting points. Since the strap connectors thread through the mounting point, they do not lie flat in the mounting. They bunch to one side and may cause excess wear on the strap connectors, which may cause failure. Maybe this is nothing... I was just looking for a way to relieve the wear...

If the strap part that threads through the anchor points are half as good as the ones on the Luma Loop you'll have no problems. The Luma Loop ones are half (maybe a third) the width of the ones shown on the Cinch and my whole rig is held up solely by that one point. I've been using it for a little more than two years and it still looks great.

That is good to know.
I am going to be out and about this coming weekend for photo project so I will definitely see how the strap fairs...
