I know I haven't been very active here in the past year, but lots going on. I'm finally easing my way into the photography business in a roundabout sort of way. Started a new site to cover the restaurant/food scene in the area so I'll be doing a lot of food photography. Tonight was my first true event. Did a four hour tour of seven restaurants to sample a total of 21 wine/food pairings. Does it get any better than that? I get to spend all evening eating, drinking, and taking pictures!

Still have a lot to learn with food photography and the challenges with very dark indoor lighting will need a lot of practice, but I can already tell it's going to be a blast.

Congrats on the food gig! I wonder if a CPL might be in order for shiny food glare?

I have not posted any pics I have a lot from our Cruise and the recent air show but I've been busy setting my 7D for bird photography there is a lot to learn....so far I am loving it. But my t2i sits and I missed it.

I have a CPL, but it's a pretty low quality one so I rarely use it. But I did notice some glare issues with some food, especially for the outdoor shots. Might need to invest in a nice one finally.

It was a piece of seared Ahi tuna, so it was meant to be served mostly raw, sashimi style.

And I just learned that the storm photo was just featured on the 11 o'clock news. I missed it though and only heard second-hand via facebook.

Maru : Congrats on the gig , the shot looks delicious (so mission accomplished) , i agree with WR that a good quality CPL would be a handy tool for that kind of work , i have a multi-coated B+W for every lens that i have and i love it .

Cabny : You've got potential , i like the shots , but i guess you need to watch the horizon and focus .

Peter : I really like the first set ,even tho the colors look kinda un-natural but they really work for me and the second set is just stunning ! that's a new bird to me
