Just wondering...
As I take shots and see new subjects (helps having moved countries) I am building up a wish list of shots I am keen to capture based on birds I've seen. Yes, I've managed to capture ese, but I'm hankering for particular shots involving them, if that makes sense. So, for me, it would be: Aussie Hobby actually getting prey (see it, didn't manage to capture it, now really on the wish list) Rainbow Lorikeet - got them, but yet to get a good shot of their undersides whilst in flight (very colourful). Seen it, not managed to capture it. Wagtail caught jumping, wings extended. Honeyeaters in flight and tack sharp. Swallow in flight tack sharp not requiring cropping (ongoing mission) So, out of interest, I see these as some of my targets based on things around me I have shot, but I want to get these shots. What's on your "aim to get" wish list? Do you set yourself such objectives?

The main photograph I'm after is what I refer to as the "holy grail" of Eagle photography.
This involves a Bald Eagle catching prey naturally...no baiting, no man-made dams involved where the fish are stunned when they pass through the hydros......natural as can be. Oh yeah, it has to be full frame (or close to it), morning light, calm water...basically perfect. I will not rest until I get this one....if I ever do I might move onto another hobby.

Well I'm easily pleased, either new birds I haven't photographed yet or better shots of the ones I have

White Morph Reddish Egret. Been looking for one for about five years, been to 4 or 5 places people have reported seeing them around FL, no luck so far. I will keep at it until I not only see one but get some killer shots of it.
I also have not yet gotten a Scarlet Ibis, I saw one driving once I am pretty sure, but didn't have my cameras and was on the way somewhere. Same with a Würdemann's Heron. Lastly I want to get a picture of a Least Bittern, although I have been told they are common at Loxahatchee, I have not been able to make the trip there yet. Then I will have pictures off all the Herons and Egrets, and other significant wading birds of Florida. |

I never have a specific target in mind. I find a place to set up and shoot whatever happens to fly by.

I'm still relatively new to birding photography, but I'm very interested in getting a decent shot of the Belted Kingfishers that live in the Cuyahoga Valley.
I'd also like to get any of the many owl species around here (Barred, Great Horned, Screetch, etc). |

There are 470 bird species observed in Trinidad & Tobago of which 363 are found in Trinidad and not accidental or extinct. I've photographed 68 so quite a few more to go!

Yellow Headed Blackbird. I've only seen them a couple of times, never close enough to photograph

I'm not a birder except for hummers (we get lots Costa's, Anna's, and a few Black-chinned). I've only seen two female Rufous in the five or so years that I've been paying attention. Got a poor pic of one. I want to see and photograph a male.

There is this Blue bird, he's smaller than a red bird and only comes around every now and then when the the feeder is not crowded, well I have seen him twice.
I'd like to get a good shot of him. |
