Default Landscape Shots in Italy/Germany

I'm going to Germany/Italy for business in a week and I'm trying to do research for the best places to shoot. My main focus is Italy, since I'll be taking an extra week to site see, but I'm open to any suggestions in Germany as well.

I'm looking particularly for mountains and lakes to shoot and Italy has got plenty of both, I just need specific areas that you guys might've shot or have heard about. Here are two places I'm looking into.

Dolomites (specific area?)
Lago di Braies

Thanks for any help.

Lake Königssee was nice in Germany, its about 2 hours outside of Munich and 45mins from Salzburg. Google around, there are some nice photos of Königssee!

The Turin area of Italy has the Alps in the background and as you head out towards Avigliana there lis Lago Piccolo and Lago Grande (the little and big lake) Turin itself is a stunning city, especially at night in the old central part

Sure Europe is small, and Germany and/or Italy are even smaller, but this is still pretty much like I would say "I will be in USA for a week, so where should I go to get few nice photos".
Alps are pretty big, actually biggest mountain chain in Europe, which goes through 5 or 6 countries, so it would be helpful if you would say in which area will you be, since you can forget getting through all this in one week. At least if you want to see something.
If you really don't have any plan yet, and you can pick any place you want, then personally, I would go for Dolomiti, and only then think on other places if you would have some extra time to spend. Heart of Dolomiti is area around Alta Badia, Val Gardena and surrounding valleys. They are great in summer, and even nicer for me in winter. Places are well connected with roads going from one valley to other through high mountain passes, so I'm pretty sure noone would regret visiting this place.
For lakes you have some of those big Italian lakes like Garda, Como, Maggiore, which are some 200-300km from Bolzano (first big(er) city near previously mentioned Badia, Gardena... valleys). And from that, some 20-100km north you have Switzerland with St. Moritz, Davos... in one way, and with Interlaken (under Eiger) in other, west way).
For Germany, I would stay down south around Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and from there, you are close to Alps on south or to old fancy castles few km north.
