HELP! Going to ATL Braves game tomorrow. Can I get in with my 200mm f/2.8L?
I've got some great seats for tomorrow night's game in Atlanta BUT I read they have a 5" maximum lens length rule. My 200mm f/2.8L II has a length of 5 1/4" WITHOUT a protective filter or hood.
1. Are they real hardcore with that rule at the gate? 2. Will I be hassled if I take it in and use it for a few shots? Any other advice would be GREATLY appreciated. |

Well, I left the hood in the car and mounted my 200mm on the camera and put it in my Case Logic camera bag (that cradles the camera while pointing the lens down).
I guess it depends on who you get in security when entering the stadium, and the guy who checked me out didn't make me pull the camera up out of the bag all the way . . . so I was "in" with the 200mm f/2.8! I had pretty decent seats at dugout level and thoroughly enjoyed the game and the lens from my seat . . . shooting w/o a tripod of course!  |

meh, Baseball games are extremely boring to shoot. Take a point and shoot to get your cameo shot and then just enjoy the hot dogs and beer.

Baseball photography tips:
Capture eyes and the ball. Avoid backs and butts. Don't try to get batter, catcher, and ump in the same frame. Shoot low... get below their eye level.
